Michel Sawaya
Citi Bahrain
Michel Sawaya was appointed Citi country officer (CCO) of Citi Bahrain in 2021. Prior to this he was CCO and head of corporate banking for Citi Lebanon. Mr Sawaya joined Citi in 1995 to help re-establish the franchise in Lebanon. He worked in operations and technology and in internal controls, before moving to treasury and trade solutions (TTS) in 2006. He became head of TTS for the Levant cluster in 2010, and in 2013 was appointed head of corporate banking in addition to leading Lebanon TTS. Mr Sawaya is a board member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain and of Injaz-Junior Achievement Bahrain, an educational non-profit organisation.
