Joseph Ghorayeb became chief executive officer of HSBC in Bahrain in September 2023. He was previously country head of wholesale banking for HSBC Middle East. Mr Ghorayeb joined HSBC Group in 2006 as a coverage banker in Canada. He relocated to the Middle East in 2010 as sector head of multinationals for the Middle East and North Africa. His roles since then have included head of UAE multinationals for HSBC Middle East, and senior banker covering the petrochemicals, infrastructure and general industries verticals in Qatar. Mr Ghorayeb and his team oversee coverage of the public sector and government-related entities, multinationals, large corporates and mid-markets, non-bank financial institutions and financial institutions.
